LV part 3 - Thurs 6 Sept & Fri 7 Sept

Thursday 6th September - Left the hotel about midday & took the bus downtown to buy my bus ticket to Cincinnati.  Then took the bus further downtown to the outlet shops, where I found some awesome chocolates, bought a present for Madison from the Converse shop, and found a special present for myself at the Swarovski shop.  Near to sunset I headed back and stopped off at Fremont Street (aka old Las Vegas) for an hour or so then caught the bus back to the hotel.

Fremont Street at night.

One of the most famous Las Vegas neon signs.

This is actually a bandstand (stage).  There are a few of them around the area & live bands perform at at least one of them every night.

Friday 7th September - Left the hotel about 11am & headed to the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace, which was amazing.  Had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory, and of course had some cheesecake.

Ulrich offering to help me eat my cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory.  They have over 20 different kinds of cheesecake.  This is the 'Chocolate Tuxedo Cream Cheesecake' - fudge cake, chocolate cheesecake, vanilla marscapone mousse & topped with milk chocolate.  (NB: I did have something savoury, and somewhat healthy, before the cheesecake).

I then headed to The Mirage to visit 'Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat' where they have dolphins and a few big cats.  The dolphins were amazing, only took a few photos as they moved too fast so ended up taking some video as well.  The big cats were great but it was a very hot afternoon so they were all sleeping.

It's hard work being so beautiful & magnificent.

Asian Leopard.
At least one of the big cats was awake, even if he did just sit there.

On my way back to the hotel I stopped off at Imperial Palace to see the Auto Collection, which was much bigger than I thought, and also quite interesting.  I got back to the hotel about 8pm & just collapsed.

They lie - not all the cars are for sale, some are display only.  But each car has an info card in front of it which tells you about the car, if it is display only or for sale & for how much.

Even I thought some of the cars were beautiful & elegant.

"Eleanor" from the movie 'Gone in 60 seconds' starring Nicholas Cage.

One of my favourite cars.  It was for sale too, and not that expensive, but converting it for driving in NZ would cost far too much.
They had an astounding number of cars, and all sorts too.  I was rather impressed.
